Kicking off the evening is the concert premiere of music from the haunting electro-acoustic score of the Oscar-nominated documentary How to Survive a Plague, composed by Superhuman Happiness's Luke O’Malley and Stuart Bogie.
The defiant spirit and groove-heavy music of Nigerian firebrand Fela Anikulapo Kuti lives on as Afrobeat icon and Fela’s master drummer Tony Allen teams up with the cinematic dance rockers of Superhuman Happiness (which unites members of Antibalas, tUnE-yArDs, and Iron and Wine) and stars of the next generation of Afrofuturist innovators.
KRONOS at 40 is presented in association with Kronos Performing Arts Association, a non-profit organization.
